There is a drawer in my house with the paperwork for the things I own: a vacuum, a drill, a stand mixer. The receipt is somewhere else, the terms are in a PDF I cannot find, and by the time something breaks I am left guessing whether it is still covered, or where I even bought it.

Expense keeps that for me now. Drop the paperwork on the Warranties page, a receipt photo, a warranty card, the terms PDF, and it reads the merchant, the product, the purchase date and the expiry off it, then keeps the file attached to the record. Where the retailer is one of the fourteen whose policies I have read through, the record starts with their own return and coverage terms, quoted with the date I checked them.

Everything lands in one list, grouped by how much time is left. Expiring within 90 days sits at the top, because that is the group worth acting on. Then what expires later, what has no end date, and what has already expired. The screenshot is a made up set of eight: a MacBook that runs out in 31 days, a blender in 48, an armchair that never expires, a vacuum that expired 43 days ago.

Warranties stay out of the expense lane, so tracking a toothbrush never touches a tax year, and a warranty can be linked to the expense it came from when there is one.

Nothing emails you about any of this. The list is the reminder, and the coverage table is only as wide as the retailers I have read through, so for the rest you fill the terms in yourself.
