Bugless Avoiding bugs in code is really that simple:
There is no more important skill in software engineering in my opinion. Its all about the code you *dont* have to write.

The goal here is get working software that you can trust as fast as you can.

bikeshed (n, v): the ability of an otherwise uninvolved crowd to apply stop energy to a crass display of initiative

Growing up using electronics and computers, probably like most my age, I’m shocked that techies don’t know what a UART is, or was this a humour lost on me?
If your into hardware, software interfaces, hackaday is a brilliant starting point.
It’s interesting to see what others pick up on from HN, etc.
It’s an age thing. UART used to be a separate chip on the motherboard, and messing with it would make a difference. Today you can get the same done with bluetooth and when was the last time you used a modem?
Hey, I remember swapping out the UART on my serial card to get decent reliability with a 9600 bps modem! I even remember what it stands for, and what were the series numbers of the bad default ones and the good aftermarket ones. Ah, for the days of good old Fidonet….
