The news is out, I just wanted to follow with a personal note.
A couple of weeks ago Flowtown joined Demandforce to work on the consumer-facing side of the business. If you’re wondering “demand who?”, I asked the same question during the first introduction. Turns out, it’s a bad ass, fast growing company, that’s already reaching 80 million consumers. But Demandforce sells to small businesses and some enterprises, in very specific verticals, which explains why few people have heard of them.
You may already be a Demandforce user, just not know about it. We’re going to change that.
Personal anecdote. Third day in, I received an SMS reminder from my optometrist. I picked up the phone and showed it to one of the people in the meeting and asked “is that yours?” My optometrist of ten years have just upgraded from their clunky by-snail-mail approach to using Demandforce’s D3. I was now a Demandforce user and I didn’t have to do anything to get the benefits.
But there is so much we can do besides appointment reminders over SMS, and we’re there to see that it happens. To deliver a better experience for people like you and me, around services we get from our favorite professionals, the dentists and auto shops and chiropractors we rely on.
I wish I could share more about our plans. Soon.
Demandforce and Flowtown are similar in many ways: kick ass sales and marketing, top notch developers, a work-hard-play-hard mentality, and software that will make a difference in your life. It’s not about serving ads or virtual goods, it’s about finding the best doctor, scheduling follow up appointments, getting better service for your car, receiving discounts on repeat business.
So you can see why I’m pumped up about this opportunity, and why we’re all excited to join Demandforce and build stuff that matters. And we’re hiring, so if that sounds interesting, there’s room on our team for you too.
