About that other problem of yours …

Software development quotes you obviously heard before, but never grow old for me:

“The first 90% of the code accounts for the first 90% of the development time. The remaining 10% of the code accounts for the other 90% of the development time.” – Tom Cargill

“The gap between theory and practice is not as wide in theory as it is in practice.” – Author Unknown

“Before software can be reusable it first has to be usable.” – Ralph Johnson

Speaking of quotes that get repeated air time:

Some people, when confronted with a problem, think “I know, I’ll quote Jamie Zawinski.” Now they have two problems.

Brilliant. I think I’ll start quoting Jamie more regularly now. (via Simon Willison)

The second quote reminds me of this one:

“In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.”

which according to http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Fact is attributed to Jan L. A. van de Snepscheut and Yogi Berra.
