Rounded Corners – 185 (Full of Gems)

Reverse eval. ruby2ruby does have some interesting uses, like this one from Techno Weenie.

Apropos testing, Matthew Bass gives us a simple plugin for visualizing responses when running functional tests in Rails. It can print the response, and also display it in the browser.

So now you know the responses are correct, but do they take forever to complete? Derek Haynes on using Scout to get notified of slow responses.

And last, something I’m looking forward to use, Benjamin Francisoud‘s NaturalSort.

jQuery for prez. I’ve heard a lot of good things about jQuery, but never found it compelling enough to jump the prototype.js ship. Well, damn you Chris, the jSkinny on jQuery has me changing my political affiliation.

Money quote. Mitch Kapor, on stepping away from Chandler:

That’s the job of the blogosphere, to be outrageously outspoken about everything. Bloggers are sometimes mistaken, but never in doubt.

I guess that makes me a blogospher :-)

Not yet determined. According to Accenture, users are calling the shots, and Accenture is calling this new phenomenon user-determined computing:

Today, home technology has outpaced enterprise technology, leaving employees frustrated by the inadequacy of the technology they use at work. As a result, employees are demanding more because of their ever-increasing familiarity and comfort level with technology. It’s an emerging phenomenon Accenture has called “user-determined computing.”

I haven’t determined if Accenture is responding to the reality in the field, and we should all brace ourselves for the First Annual UDC Conference, or just invented a new term to drive sales for its Web 2.0 product line. Source: Jeremy Wagstaff.

Public Service Announcement. The only thing more annoying than you blogging about Twitter, is you calling to tell me about SMS.

Above, Microsoft’s stay-at-home server is witty. Read the entire book here. (Via Laughing Squid)
