I’m having such a hard time installing Linux on one of my machines, that I’m close to giving up and booting back to Win2K. Perhaps CygWin and a few ported servers is all I need.
It’s an old box, still running Win2K back from 2K, and everything on that box works, even the sound card. It’s the new stuff I’m having a hard time with. The WiFi card installation requires a kernel rebuild, mounting the external USB drive sounds like a weekend project, and I haven’t even tried DVD burning yet.
I love Linux, but only because I’m routinely using boxes set up by other people.
On a positive note, something that’s easy to install and fun to use … Rails 1.0 is out!
